Donnalyn Giegerich MBA,CIC,RYT co owns Heritage Benefits Group and is a producer for Couch Braunsdorf Insurance in Red Bank,NJ. Her hectic life was changed — but not interrupted — when she was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma. Today she is CancerFree! She is a former Adj Prfsor of Finance and Economics with 20yrs experience in insurance and real estate…to relieve worklife stress, she teaches yoga and is a certified personal trainer. In her spare time she enjoys golf, sprint triathalons and community advocacy. The mission of this blog is to raise awareness for Leiomyosarcoma in a lively format. Her newest projects leverage 20 yrs of business experience to “pay forward” her life experiences in motivational, athletic and educational speeches and workshops. Most recently, she was nominated as one of NJ’s Garden State Women of the Yr, recognized as the Platinum Star Awardee by NAWBO/CJ(Nat Assoc of Wom Biz Owners, Central Jersey),named EMACC’s Honorary Spinnaker Awardee and Red Bank’s Honorary Rotarian. In ‘08, she received TeamSurvivorTriState’s Thriver of the Yr Award along side Olympic swimmer Eric Shanteau. Written about extensively in the press, she also appeared on NBC News before her Metroman Triathalon in Asbury Park this summer.
